Jonathan FeBland is a London-based Composer who works in an enormous range of styles and genres. He is Published by Universal Edition and Schott, and on CD with Warner and Meridian.

His Contemporary Serious works include a number of extended Piano solo compositions, all of these premiered by Louis Demetrius Alvanis and many featured on the 2008 CD Piano Colours which has been extensively broadcast in Europe.

Classical Compositions in a more approachable language have become part of the Standard Repertoire with three different CD versions available of his 3 Miniatures for Clarinet & Piano (UE) with recordings by Deborah de Graaff (Australia), JM Santandreu (Spain) and Mark Walton (New Zealand).

One of his large-scale works is the Jazz Symphony in 33 Grooves which contains many different Jazz genres within a Symphonic context.

The Bolshoi Theater Wind Quintet will premiere one of his works in Moscow in 2017.

By January, 2015 he had over 250 works of Original Music published on YouTube.

Very recent projects include the new 17 microetudes for unacc. Clarinet (dedicated to Mark Walton and already beginning to appear on YouTube) and 31 Fragments for unacc. Cello (dedicated to David Johnstone) now in preparation for publication with Bardic Edition (UK). 

Composer of over 1,000 works, FeBland has also written music in the New-Age genre, Film-style compositions and even Pop/Rock styles, with two CDs released on iTunes under his own name and produced in collaboration with Michal Turtle and Jessica Knoll in Switzerland. A third Pop/Rock CD is currently in production and is expected to be released later on in 2015.

He is currently working on 100 Etudettes for Piano which are expected to cover a wide range of genres with most pieces lasting between 50 and 100 seconds.

Jonathan FeBland is also involved with many other artistic activities such as Writing, Painting and Conceptual Art. 


NEWS 2016

In 2016 Jonathan FeBland published a comedy/satire/farce Doctor Fish and a book of (mainly) Nonsense Verse - Poetastery.

In Summer 2016 'Colours for Clarinet' was released by JM Santandreau (Cl.) and Christian A. Esteve Zinsser (Pf)

A number of different Composers are setting the poems in Poetasery as songs for publication in Summer 2017.

He also composed a new work Clarinet Overture (a pocket concerto) written for (and edited by) soloist and prof. of Clarinet, Mark Walton.

This also exists in Cello Version written for (and edited by) Spanglish Cellist (and 'hobby Composer') David Johnstone.

He is currently working on a book about Bridge entitled The Genius of the Weak No Trump.

In 2017 he plans to write a new stage play (another comedy/satire/farce) set in London.

Publishers Bardic Edition and Samuel King are bringing another 74 of his shorter works into print by early 2017.

About a dozen private art collectors are now displaying his paintings and he has one work in the permanent collection of MOBA (Boston, USA).


NEWS 2017

So far ~ mid-February update

In 2017 Simon J. Proctor has (already by end January) set all 63 of the poems in Poetastery as a two-hour long song-cycle. We now await a date for the premiere.

In addition, other Composers have set as follows: 4,1,1,1 & 1 poem (so far !) Mr S.J. Proctor is winning by at least 59. So 'Hats off Gentlemen' etc. etc.

The Znethru channel over at YouTube continues to flourish with Mr. B #2 starring in approx. a dozen of the latest available video programmes, so please do feel free to catch up on the free entertainment.

He is currently studying Chaucer in the original (mainly because he so loves the spellings they had in the olden days!)

News 2018

May 2018 Conducting Debut in South England.

There are plans in the pipeline for a premiere of Doctor Fish (Comedy/Satire/Farce) to be held some time between March and May 2018 at a London Theatre. Co- Produced by Thomas J. Champ there are still many decisions to be made regarding actors and venue, but an update will appear here sooner rather than later.
