If Today Were the Last Day and Tomorrow Were to Late 'll'

On mothers day this year I wrote these words................
In life there are not to many things that scare me. I have learned to communicate , negotiate , manipulate and how to fight on sooo many levels. To say I am without fear would be foolhardy because fear is a tool we should all have in our tool box. What scares me or worse yet saddens me, is that I am handing all that I am .... everything I have trained to become, to someone who may not even understand the courage determination and sheer force of will it has taken undertake my journey.
"If you give another what you cannot find anywhere else he will keep returning. The two fast tracks to wisdom are through mentors or pain, I happen to provide both. If you keep pushing you will learn that endurance demoralizes your adversary."
My friend and mentor Joe Lewis said to me, "We innovate, not imitate."
In the martial arts world there are millions of blackbelts , hundreds of thousands of 'second degrees'and tens of thousands of world champions and shihans. There are hundreds of masters and fewer still grand masters but within this group a mere handfull that are trueley mentors whos knowlege can touch our souls and change our lives and influence us to inspire confidence and charge within us the fire of will that raises our self esteem. I have been humbled and honored to have finally become someone blessed with these skills.
Tomorrow I will be changed , changed forever. I will always be thankful to my students friends and mentors who have shared with me this journey....................In the gym and on the mat we master our minds and bodies only to potentially hand all that we are to a stranger. I can manipulate the will of a customer and bend or break the will of an adversary but I can do nothing to control this........
What will you do with your time ...?
Whenever I find anything remarkable I find it my duty to share my discovery on paper or in class so that all people might be informed and uplifted. A thousand candles can be lit from one , and the life of the one will not be shortened. Happiness doesnt decrease by being shared. It is important to be ready at anytime to sacrifice what you are for what you could become. It's hard each morning to wake up torn between the desire to change the world or just enjoy it .
Live a good life. If there are gods and they are just, then they will not care how devout you have been, but will welcome you based on the virtues you have lived by. If there are gods, but unjust, then you should not want to worship them. If there are no gods, then you will be gone, but will have lived a noble life that will live on in the memories of your loved ones. I am not afraid.
- Marcus Aurelius
Wisdom is knowing what to do next; Skill is knowing how to do it, and Virtue is doing it. Leadership is about creating, day by day, a domain in which  those around us continually deepen our understanding of reality and are able to participate in shaping the future. This, then, is the deeper territory of leadership -- collectively "listening to what is wanting to emerge in the world, and then having the courage to do what is required."
No longer strangers ; this time I know and trust my surgical team , they are friends and the best professionals anyone could ask for as a 'cornerman'.
I have shared , and led and inspired. My students themselves are now teachers............If this were the last day I can say I enjoyed it with confidence , and pride in the legacy I have inspired in the hearts and minds of those I have touched.
