Welcome FDLRS & FIN Colleagues!

Welcome to your book study on The Connected Educator. This study will run over the course of eleven weeks and will expose you to web based tools for both personal use and for supporting classroom teachers. The book's authors, Sheryl Nussbaum-Beach and Lani Ritter Hall will help shape our thinking regarding professional learning and leading in a digital age. We will use this site as a place to share thoughts, projects, tools, and related resources.

Your FDLRS state PD/Tech work group is proud to offer this professional learning opportunity for our colleagues.  It is fashioned after the course created by Alissa Plaisance and Karen Geisel at FDLRS Action Resource Center. We thank them immensely for sharing their expertise and resources!

By taking part in the reading of the book and online and discussion prompts, participants can earn 20 points for inservice credit. As this is a state-wide book study we encourage participants to follow district requirements for obtaining in-service credit.  At the close of the book study you will receive an electronic certificate indicating your participation and completion.

It is our hope that you will stay involved in the conversations taking place and contribute your thoughts and experiences whether you are brand new to utilizing web-based tools or if it is already embedded in your way of work. Please stay tuned for weekly communication from your facilitators.

Let's get started!  Please begin reading the introduction and chapter one of the book.
