Welcome to my web page. I am a professor of economics at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University (AYBU), where I have taught since completing my Ph.D. at CentER, Tilburg University. 

Most of my work asks how markets perform when firms hold market power and when private incentives diverge from social ones. That question runs through my research on competition and regulation in digital markets, on energy efficiency and the circular economy, and on the productivity of small and medium-sized enterprises. I use both empirical methods and theoretical modeling, and I have benefited from time spent at the Centre for Competition Policy at the University of East Anglia, at the Office of the Chief Economist of the Netherlands Competition Authority, and at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Amsterdam. My publications are listed on my research page. 

I teach microeconomics-based courses at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels and supervise theses at both levels. I currently serve as dean of the Faculty of Political Sciences, having previously spent ten years as vice dean and four years as vice chair of the Department of Economics. Beyond the university, I have worked with the Turkish Energy Foundation and the UNESCO Türkiye National Commission, and I provide training and external review services to the Turkish Competition Authority and to the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Organization of Türkiye (KOSGEB).
