Interest Groups

There are many ways to deepen your faith and connect with others at First Congregational Church. Interest groups allow people to get involved in activities that add meaning to their lives and help others in our world. These groups generally rise up through interest of members in the church.

  • ABC Knitting Group knit scarves to donate to the Anti-Bullying Campaign in the Oshkosh Area School District. This group provided knitted scarves to all 5th grade students in their show of anti-bullying.

  • Animal Ministries is made up of members and friends of FCC. They advocate for care and justice of animals in our world. They collect supplies for the Oshkosh Area Humane Society; hold a pet blessing service and pet memorial service annually; assist with other animal welfare causes, and minister to those who need temporary help with caring for pets in times of crisis or other need.

  • The Green Team is interested in creation care, thus focuses on "greening" initiatives at FCC.  They have been instrumental in raising awareness for solar energy and advocated for the inclusion of solar panels in the recent Capital Campaign.  They have worked with the pastor to include creation care in worship.

  • The Landscape Committee is a sub-committee of the Building and Grounds Ministry Group, they focus on the grounds surrounding the building and care for the garden space.

  • The Memorial Committee oversees Memorial funds donated to the church.

  • SAGE is a group of members and friends that socializes together as a means of deepening their connections with each other and their faith.  They meet monthly for lunch or outings.

  • Stewardship is a sub-group of the Finance Ministry group that plans and oversees the yearly Stewardship Campaign.

  • The Women's Retreat Planning Committee plans the annual Women's Retreat held at the UCC Pilgrim Camp in Green Lake, WI.

  • Women's Fellowship provides for the fellowship of women in the church.  All women are welcome to participate in Women's Fellowship.  They generally focus on service to the church. They were instrumental in raising awareness and funds for a kitchen renovation.
