About me

Since April 2020 I am a Visiting Professor at the Chair of Computer Vision & Artificial Intelligence at the Technical University of Munich. Before that, I was a postdoctoral researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Informatics in the Graphics, Vision and Video group. I am working on topics in machine learning and applied mathematics, with applications in vision, graphics and image analysis. My research interests include
  • integrating human knowledge in the form of expert-designed models and algorithms into learning systems,
  • statistical shape models & multi-shape analysis,
  • mathematical optimisation,
  • matching and correspondence problems, as well as
  • various applications (e.g. in AR/VR, motion capture, 3D reconstruction, biomedicine).

Information for prospective students:
Students interested in working under my supervision shall directly get in touch with me. I am offering projects related (but not limited) to the following areas:
  • deep learning of graphs,
  • differentiable programming,
  • data canonicalisation,
  • model-based machine learning,
  • transformation/permutation synchronisation,
  • combinatorial shape matching, and
  • linear assignment problems.
