Our Present Ministry

On Sunday morning, Bible study classes are offered for all ages. Individuals are encouraged to participate in classes designed to nurture and encourage believers. As we gather to worship the Lord, we endeavor to be biblical and simple. Our worship consists of Scripture readings, congregational singing, prayer, and the preaching of God’s Word.

Sunday evening includes a time of thought provoking Bible study for adults and youth. Time is also spent interceding before God on behalf of others and for God to be honored in all we do. The day is concluded with a time of family fellowship that helps to provide for relationship building with one another.

Wednesday evenings children ages three through eighth grade come together for AWANA clubs. This is an exciting time filled with crazy games, learning about God, and Scripture memory.

There are many other exciting things happening at First Baptist Church! God continues to open our eyes to new ministries all around us. We attempt to be sensitive to where God is working and join with Him. Some meet together weekly in small groups for Bible study; others, like Baptist Men and Women On Watch meet monthly. One of the ministries of Women On Watch is to provide a gift bag to new mothers and babies born at our local hospital. A heart for missions is growing in the lives of our people. Many individuals and families have volunteered to serve as short term missionaries to people in other places.

The First Baptist Church family meets together for an outdoor worship service and picnic in June. You can always be sure that water is involved in the games that are played following a delicious meal. Families also get together in August for a Back to School fellowship that always makes good memories.

During the last weekend of each October, we host the Reformation Weekend Conference. Speakers proclaim the doctrinal truths contained in God's Word and encourage us in the faith.

Each November, our facility serves as a Relay Center for Operation Christmas Child, a ministry of Samaritan's Purse, during National Collection Week. Participating individuals and churches throughout the area bring shoe boxes filled with useful gifts and toys for distribution to children throughout the world.
