Welcome to the website for the Fayette County Genealogical Society located in Washington Court House, Ohio. We meet at the Carnegie Public Library, 127 South North Street, in the meeting room at 7:00 pm on the third Monday of the months March through November, with the exception of May. In May we celebrate our First Family members with a dinner (location named later) and in December we have our Christmas party at another location.
FCGS will meet Monday, June 20, 2016, at 7:00 PM in the meeting room at the Carnegie Public Library. Please use side entrance.
PROGRAM: Glenn Rankin is continuing a film about Jeffersonville in 1939. This film represents all small towns of that time period. Even some of the people look like people I knew in New Holland 15 years later.
DON'T FORGET: Bring in your Ancestor Charts. Ancestor charts list you, your parents, grandparents, great-grandparents and great great-grandparents and their birth, marriage and death dates. We'd like to know who your ancestors were and if they lived in Fayette County before 1830. If they did, you could belong to First Families!
Bring along some money and purchase or order one of our books.
A new book has been published It's called "Naturalizations Records". It is not a complete record, but covers the years 1880-1928. A lot of names are misspelled in the book. Price is $10.00 plus .70 sales tax and $5.00 shipping. You may place your order at FCGS, P.O. Box 342, Washington C.H., OH 43160-0342.
The public is always welcome!
