Fayaz Riazi is a grant researcher in the Department of Environment and Planning at the University of Aveiro, Portugal. He holds a bachelor's and a master's in urban and regional planning. He is also a PhD student in Public Policy at the University of Aveiro in Portugal, supervised by Professors Fidelis and Teles.
He had an excellent career opportunity (March 2019-January 2021) as a researcher (Master Investigator Grant) to work on a European project (Project Ô) focused on integrated water management, planning, and the circular economy, and he contributed to many of the project's deliverables and milestones. As a result, he developed his knowledge of the water circular economy and the institutional, stakeholders, and community challenges.
He is adept at analysing policy, legal, and regulatory documents and assessing institutional arrangements for the water circular economy. Currently, he is working on institutional arrangements for the water circular economy, the challenge of inter-municipal cooperation, to analyse the role of cooperation as a strategy to facilitate the transition towards a water circular economy.
