FASAL is an annual conference which focuses on the theoretical aspects of the research on South Asian languages. 

Previous conferences have seen talks and posters given by participants from all over the world. Previous hosts for the conference have been University of Massachusetts (2011), the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (2012), University of Southern California (2013), Rutgers University (2014) and Yale University (2015).
