Explore With Solar Panels

  1. Find how the voltage of a solar panel is related to angle with the ground. Measure the voltage of the panel at ten different angles. Zero angle is flat on the ground and 180 is upside down. Set your meter to DCV 200 for best results.
  2. Graph your measurements using Sheets.
  3. According to your measurements and graph, what would be the optimal angle to mount solar panels and why?
  4. How does your optimal angle compare to the angle of the school's solar panels? Why do you think they are same/different?
  5. Research the proper angle to mount solar panels. Provide a link and a summary of what you found.
