Maple Bacon Cinnamon Rolls

What you need:

Maple Bacon Glaze:

  • 1 tsp. maple extract
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 Tbsp. melted butter
  • 2 Tbsp. coffee
  • Pinch of salt
  • Powdered sugar (if I remember correctly, it was around 2 cups for me)
  • Real bacon bits

Cinnamon Rolls:

  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • heaping tsp. active dry yeast
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour, divided
  • heaping 1/4 tsp. baking powder
  • scant 1/4 tsp. baking soda
  • heaping 3/4 tsp. salt
  • Melted butter
  • Brown sugar
  • Cinnamon

  1. For rolls: Mix milk, vegetable oil, and sugar in a small saucepan. Heat up until just before it boils. Turn off heat and cool for 45 minutes.
  2. Place in stand mixer and add yeast. Let sit for a few minutes until bubbly.
  3. Add 2 cups of flour and mix. Cover and let rise for one hour or until doubled.
  4. After doubled, add remaining 1/4 cup flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Mix.
  5. On a flour-dusted surface, roll dough out into a rectangle.
  6. Drizzle with melted butter and sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon, to your liking.
  7. Roll dough up tightly and pinch seam to seal.
  8. Add a little melted butter in the bottom of a pie pan or 9x13" dish, whatever you plan on using.
  9. Cut rolls into about one inch thick pieces and transfer to pan.
  10. Let rolls rise for 20 to 30 minutes.
  11. Bake at 350* for 15 to 20 minutes or until light golden brown.
  12. For glaze: Mix all wet ingredients together with salt. Add powdered sugar until you get desired consistency. Then add bacon bits to your liking.
  13. Drizzle glaze onto warm rolls!
