Educating youth and encouraging them to become involved in gardening and garden related fields of study is an important objective of the garden club and there are several opportunities for financial assistance available.

Fallbrook Garden Club

The club may award one or more scholarships each year to a student enrolled at Mira Costa College.
  • To apply go to the Mira Costa College website
  • Selection is based on character, scholarship, aptitude, ability to succeed and financial need.
  • The recipient must be planning a career in agriculture, botany, conservation, entomology, environmental studies, floriculture, forestry, horticulture, landscape architecture, plant biology, plant genetics, urban planning or a related field. 
  • The scholarship money is sent directly to the college. 

In addition to club scholarships, students may apply for those sponsored by California Garden Clubs, Inc. and National Garden Clubs.
California Garden Clubs, Inc. (CGCI)
  • CGCI has an established fund that provides scholarships for California students with noted accomplishments, or students who have completed two years of college, who plan careers in botany, conservation, entomology, floriculture, forestry, horticulture, landscape architecture, plant biology and/or plant genetics, urban planning, or research in allied fields.
  • Applicants may attend the school of their choice, provided there is a recognized department in one of the required subjects. 
  • Two $2000 scholarships are awarded each year.

National Garden Clubs, Inc. (NGC)
  • NGC is proud of its college scholarship program which offers financial aid to students majoring in fields of study related to horticulture and the environment.
  • One-year scholarships are available to juniors, seniors and graduate students pursuing a Master’s Degree
  • Sophomores may make application for their junior year
  • College/university must be accredited and listed on the official website of the U.S. Department of Education
