Video Gaming


ABOUT THE NEW LAW IN ILLINOIS:

This portion of the website is intended to clarify the Illinois Video Gaming Act (VGA).  The VGA was signed into law on July 13, 2009.  It allows liquor pouring establishments to have up to 5 video gaming machines.  These machines must be placed in age restricted areas within a location, so that only patrons 21 years old and above can play.  Players can wager as little as 5 cents per play up to a maximum of 2 dollars per play.  The maximum win per hand is $500.  Machines will not accept credit cards.  Machines will accept cash only and players will receive a voucher ticket for their winnings.  All machines must be connected to the state's central computer system, which will facilitate ticket validation, as well as prov
ide all accounting data.

  1. Manufacturer
  1. Distributor
  1. Terminal Operator
  1. Licensed Establishment
Fair Share Gaming, L.L.C. is a Licensed Terminal Operator.

THE STATE DOES NOT ALLOW FOR A COMPANY TO HOLD MULTIPLE LICENSES.

  • Licensed Establishments include:

  1. Bars and Restaurants
  1. Fraternal Organizations
  1. Veterans Organizations
  1. Truck Stops

 

  • Only a licensed terminal operator may own, operate and lease machines to liquor pouring establishments and truck stops

 

  • The Illinois Gaming Board (IGB) will provide stringent regulations and controls for day to day operations.

 

  • 30% Gaming Tax to State and local municipality on net win (25% to State and 5% to municipality).

 

  • By law the remaining 70% is split 50/50 between licensed establishment and terminal operator.

 

  • The games that will be allowed are poker, line-up, and blackjack.

 

  • The IGB will clarify responsibilities specific to the owners of each level of licensing.
