City of Norfolk 'COOL' Award--2010
The league was awarded the Civic Opportunity and Outstanding Leadership (COOL) Award for comprehensive efforts through a beautification committee that addresses code and ordinance education, outreach to help senior citizens and military spouses with limited income or resources on yard work, minor home repairs and cosmetic improvements, and a variety of community building events.

Model Community for Neighbors Building Neighborhoods Program--2011
The Fairmount Park Civic League was the role model for effective and resident-driven community building techniques and programs for the new City of Norfolk initiative 'Neighbors Building Neighborhoods in 2011 by city manager Marcus Jones.

Neighborhood Project of the Year Award Winner--2011
The League was recognized by the Virginia Statewide Neighborhood Conference for creating a comprehensive education and outreach strategy, strengthening neighbor relationships, and building strong partnerships with community stakeholders and the City of Norfolk.

National Night Out Host Neighborhood--2012
Fairmount Park hosted the National Night Out event at Shoop Park on August 7. The event, included an opening ceremony, a street parade and a main event with live entertainment, food, recreational activities and information for residents on neighborhood and city agencies and programs.

Norfolk Environmental Commission Award—2013
The Pope and Somme Wetlands restoration which was designed and led by the League and several outside partners including the City of Norfolk and the Lafayette Wetlands Partnership, was awarded the Award of Excellence, for Rivers & Watershed Protection by the Norfolk Environmental Commission in the fall of 2013. This project has galvanized the interest of residents in a more comprehensive shoreline restoration effort on the Lafayette River in the Fairmount Park community.
