Pope & Somme Wetland Education Park

- Opened in 2013, this former dump site is a restored wetland with native plantings, birdhouses, educational signage as well as benches and trash/recycle stations for visitors enjoyment. The park is an on-going educational site which includes annual maintenance efforts and activities by the League and the Youth Civic League. The site has the first recycle station on public property in the City of Norfolk.

Neighborhood Litter Receptacle & Litter Prev Prgm

-litter receptacles managed by residents and education of residents in target areas


Neighbors Helping Neighbors Program

-partnership with 2 neighborhood churches to support residents in need of yard and exterior home repairs


Beautification and Codes Committee

-community led code enforcement thru education and posting of properties for violations


Redevelopment of Lafayette Boulevard

-working with the City, NRHA and Economic Dev. for new retail, office and housing on the boulevard


Riverfront Park and Boardwalk

-planning stages for new park on the Lafayette River


Commercial Aesthetic Improvement Committee

-oversees and approves applications and community engagement for property owners taking part in the CAI grant program
