Elizabeth Flemming, MA, LPC, is a Counselor Educator in North Carolina experienced in child, adolescent and adult behavioral health services. In addition to being an experienced supervisor Ms. Flemming is trained extensively in community based interventions, intensive treatment modalities and working with co-occuring disorders. Currently she is an Associate Director with the Mental Health Education Department at MAHEC. After receiving her BA in Psychology at Elon University in 1993 Elizabeth received her MA in Counseling and graduated with honors in 1997 from Norther Arizona University.

Paul Nagy is a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist and a Certified Clinical Supervisor in the Substance Abuse field, as well as a Licensed Professional Counselor. Paul is currently a Clinical Associate in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Duke University Medical Center. Paul Nagy is a Clinical associate in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Duke University Medical Center where he serves as Program Director for the Duke Addictions Program and Director of Substance Abuse Clinical Training and Consultation for the Duke Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences.
Mr. Nagy have more than 25 years experience as a substance abuse treatment specialist, administrator, consultant and educator and presently provides routine and ongoing best practices consultation and technical assistance to a number of public and private organizations. He regularly conducts seminars and workshops to audiences throughout the United States on a range of topics. Mr. Nagy also work as Expert Content Director overseeing the development of publications for the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment. He served as Consensus Panel Chair and Co-Chair of the Federal Treatment Improvement Protocols on Intensive Outpatient Treatment of Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse and has written three book chapters for textbooks published by the American Psychiatric Press.

, MS, LPC, received his undergraduate degree in psychology from the
University of Alabama and his Master’s in Clinical Psychology in 1985.
He has worked in a variety of clinical settings ranging from an
outpatient state mental health program to a private in-patient
treatment center. He is also a Licensed Professional Counselor
is currently the Administrator of Mental Health Continuing Education
for Southern Regional AHEC and the Project Director for the North
Carolina Evidence Based Practices Center in Fayetteville, NC. John has
been with Southern Regional AHEC since 2002 where he has been
responsible for assessing, planning, coordinating, and conducting
continuing education activities for mental health professionals in a
nine county region.
Jim Mallison, LCAS, CCS, MAC
For more than 30 years as a clinician and administrator in substance abuse treatment both in the community and on the college campus, Jim Mallinson has taught courses on addictive disease, certification preparation, ethics (including 42-CFR and HIPAA), and healthcare management at various institutes throughout the region including the North Carolina Foundation for Alcohol and Drug Studies, the Duke Addictions Program, and the North Carolina Evidence Based Practices Center. Jim provides counseling services, clinical supervision, and consultation services through his practice Carolina Counseling Services in Salisbury, NC. He also serves as an adjunct faculty member at Catawba College in Salisbury. He is a NCSAPPB Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist and Certified Clinical Supervisor, and a NAADAC certified Master Addiction Counselor.
