RENDER TO TEXTURE

These are KEY settings you need to make sure are setup correctly so you don't get screwed up later on!
  • Add padding based on the final texture size (imagine final size is 512x512 with 2px padding, then if you render at 2048x2048 you should have 8px padding)
  • On the Render Setup - Common turn "Force 2 Sided" on
  • Enable Global SuperSampler in the Render Setup
  • Turn off "Adaptive Undersampling" for the Light tracer in the final render.

MATERIALS AND TEXTURES

Specular controls the brightness of the specular highlight whereas gloss controls how wide/blurry the highlight is (i.e. something very glossy has tight, sharp highlights whereas something not glossy has a very wide diffused highlights).
