"F5" Amp (Pass Design)- Prototype

(Still under construction)

This is a different project where I have also built the chassis the DIY way. My goal was to have low cost project because I had never heard an F5 amp before so I did not know if I would use it. I used 4 old stock of TO-3 heatsinks (one for each output Mosfet) with local home hardware aluminum bars to make the chassis including these heatsinks. Some aluminum bars also dissipate a portion of heat too. The base of the chassis is simply made of wood with no top cover at this time. There are also 4 fans which are not really necessary since the actual heatsinks can handle the recommended 1.3A class A bias current per channel. It includes also an home made soft start, DC protection and tempereature protection circuit. There is no face plate, the inside wiring is a little messy and the overall look is ........................a prototype!
