Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it. (1 Cor 9:24)

When: Saturday, June 14th, 2008

Where: Nomahegan Park, Cranford, NJ

Run:

  • Registration Time: 9:00 to 10:00 AM. We will absolutely close registration at 10:00 AM!
  • Start Time: 10:30 AM
  • Rain Date: Sunday, June 15th, 2008. Race would begin at 3:30 PM.  Registration from 2:00 to 3:00 PM.

Description:  St. George & St. Shenouda is working towards renovating their Church Annex into a new cathedral.  Please help us with our cause by participating in a Christian themed 5K Run (run/walk/crawl/whatever!) and joining us for a BBQ at the park afterwards!  Support the Coptic Church by completing 5K as you observe inspirational Christian themes along the way.

Qualifications:

  • Participants must be 17 years or older.
  • All competitors should be medically fit to run and understand they enter at their own risk.
  • To compete, it is required you find pledging.  Every competitor must be guaranteed at least $50 worth of pledges for completing the 5K.  All earned pledges must be handed in the day of the race.
  • Spectators will be charged $10 for the BBQ.

Awards: Prizes will be given to the three males and females who complete the run in the shortest time.  Competition T-Shirts will be given to all entrants.  Also, a special prize will be awarded to whoever brings in the most pledges.

Dress Code:  No Shirt, No Shoes, No Service.  Guys and girls should dress appropriately.  Everyone must wear a top.  Shorts should be of reasonable length.  Priests are allowed to wear their galabeyas :)

Application Due: May 15th, 2008

Note: While signed applications are due May 15, the pledge forms along with the raised funds will be handed in during the registration period before the race. Therefore, it is probably most convenient to collect pledges as a flat amount rather than based on distance.
