June 17 – July 15 for Western parts of USA / Canada / Mexico (western North America)

June 17 – July 16 for Eastern parts of USA / Canada / Mexico (eastern North America), Latin America, Europe, Middle East, Africa, western parts of Asia (e.g., Iran)

June 18 – July 16 for eastern parts of Asia (e.g., most of India, Bangladesh, Thailand, Malaysia, Japan), Australia, New Zealand

Ramadan is the month during which the Quran was revealed, providing guidance for the people, clear teachings, and the statute book. Those of you who witness this month shall fast therein.... (2:185)

The new moon timings to determine the month of Ramadan are as follows:

  • June 16, 2015: 14:05 pm (UTC/GMT)

  • July 16, 2015: 1:24 am (UTC/GMT)


17 June 2015 - 15 July 2015: Therefore, God willing the first day of Ramadan is June 17, and the last day of Ramadan is July 15 for Western USA / Western Canada / Western Mexico. Please check with the information available for your location using the Ramadan Calculation Assistant and the US Naval Observatory solar & lunar data.

17 June 2015 - 16 July 2015: Therefore, God willing the first day of Ramadan is June 17, and the last day of Ramadan is July 16 for Eastern USA / Eastern Canada / Eastern Mexico, most of Europe, western Asia (e.g., the Middle East, Turkey, Iran). Please check with the information available for your location using the Ramadan Calculation Assistant and the US Naval Observatory solar & lunar data.

18 June 2015 - 16 July 2015: Therefore, God willing the first day of Ramadan is June 18, and the last day of Ramadan is July 16 for Eastern Asia (e.g., most of India, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, Japan), Australia, New Zealand. Please check with the information available for your location using the Ramadan Calculation Assistant and the US Naval Observatory solar & lunar data.

The Night of Destiny (Night of Power) will start, God willing, at sunset on July 12, 2015 for those places that start fasting on June 17th. For those locations that start Ramadan on June 18th (a day later), the Night of Destiny falls on July 13th, 2015 God willing.

Note:
Please check your local sunset times to verify these dates. You will also need to convert the new moon times from UTC (GMT) to your local time zone (taking into account daylight savings if applicable). For example, while most of India begins fasting on 18 June, based on the new moon the month of fasting may begin on June 17th for some northern parts of India (e.g., Srinagar).

The end date may vary based on your location, so please verify using the information in the next paragraph.
