I am a Research Scientist at Intel Labs in Santa Clara, California. Before joining Intel, I was an interim Postdoctoral Fellow in the Computational Research Division at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, working on high-performance algorithms for genome and metagenome assembly. I obtained my Ph.D. from UC Berkeley in Computer Science where I was advised by Prof. Katherine Yelick. I was affiliated with Berkeley Benchmarking and Optimization group and the ClaSS Group at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. My research interests include High Performance Computing and Scientific Applications. My Ph.D. thesis (pdf) was on scalable parallel algorithms for genome and metagenome analysis and I have also worked on communication-avoiding algorithms. Before joining UC Berkeley, I received my diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering from National Technical University of Athens. Here you can find my CV.
