I am a principal economist on the Supply Chain Optimization Technologies (SCOT) team at Amazon.com.  I lead the science team responsible for developing optimization models for Amazon.com's warehouse topology planning, and forecasting of retail inventory.  Our models inform tens of billions of dollars in annual capital investments and support quarterly financial reporting to Wall Street.  We employ empirical macro-econometric, machine learning, and dynamic, stochastic operations research methods to accomplish these goals.  Prior to that, I was a research economist in the Globalization and Monetary Policy Institute of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas from 2015-2019, and spent six years working at Bridgewater Associates, a hedge fund focused on global-macro investment strategies.
