Welcome to Moscow, ID!

Dear Evolution 2009 participant,

We figure that many of you will take the opportunity to stay around and get out into the good country around Moscow.  Some of you will come as a family.  For that reason, a bunch of your colleagues here at the University of Idaho sat down to put together a list of activities that you might enjoy.

Adventure Learning (www.adventurelearningcamps.org)
A local non-profit has put together a set of great daily outdoors activities for each of the days of the meetings.  Perfect for kids of all ages. The attachment below (adventurelearning.pdf) describes the activity for each day, and you can pick and choose which ones you want to attend.  All days are full-day trips (roughly 8am-5 pm), and the cost for each trip is $40.  At their website, you will find registration forms and much more information.  Each trip has a maximum attendance of 12, and the registration deadline is May 4.

  Whitewater Rafting (http://www.doryfun.com/)
Idaho is outstanding whitewater rafting country, and one of the many rafting companies has arranged a special 2-day trip on the Lower Salmon River.  The attachment below (RaftingtheLowerSalmon.pdf) describes the trip.   Again, you make your own reservation.

Please be aware that the University of Idaho has no involvement with these outdoor activities; they are run by separate outfits in our geographic area. These activites reflect the kind of things that we, your colleagues, would enjoy if plunking down in this area for a few days. If you have any questions, feel free to send an e-mail to Evo2009trips@gmail.com .
