Association for European Jewish Literature Studies (EJLS)

The Association for European Jewish Literature Studies / Gesellschaft für europäisch-jüdische Literaturstudien e.V. (EJLS) was founded in 2006 in Heidelberg with the goal to support the profiling and the advancement of studies in European Jewish literature. The EJLS endeavours this by focussing on literary questions in the scope of European Jewish Studies, as well as through close cooperation with related disciplines such as History, Philosophy and Social Studies. Furthermore, the EJLS aims to provide its members with important information in the field of Jewish Literary and Cultural Studies and to maintain the contact with Jewish authors and publishing houses alike as well as with other institutions in the medial field, provided that they are relevant to European Jewish literature.
