Format & Objective
The Micro Theory Working Group (MTWG) is a forum for doctoral researchers, postdocs, faculty, and visitors to present ongoing theoretical work, share new ideas, and receive constructive feedback. We welcome research in all areas of microeconomic theory, including (but not limited to) game theory, contract theory, mechanism design, information economics, and market design.
All meetings take place in person at Villa La Fonte and are also broadcasted via Zoom. The current time slot is Tuesdays from 14:00 to 15:00, and meetings are held in the 3rd Floor Seminar Room. Each session typically features one presentation, with plenty of time for discussion and questions. Projects at any stage are welcome: you can present a paper that is nearly ready to circulate, a work-in-progress where you’d like input, or even a promising idea you’re still shaping. For early-stage projects, we also offer the option of shorter 30-minute presentations, focusing on motivation, related literature, and initial modelling attempts.
We especially encourage second- to fourth-year PhD researchers to present, but participation and presentations from all interested members of the micro theory community are warmly encouraged.
If you’d like to join the mailing list, attend meetings, or sign up to present, please get in touch with the organizers: Julia Müller (julia.mueller@eui.eu) and Panagiotis Kyriazis (panagiotis.kyriazis@eui.eu). We look forward to seeing you at the MTWG!
