The "Social and Emotional Adjustment of High School Students" program will be held on April 20, at 7:30pm in ETHS Room A-241 (re-scheduled from Feb. when a snowstorm caused cancellation).

All of the panel members have responded that they will attend:

Julie Portnoy, of the Bridges Early Childhood and Adolescent Program of the Northshore University Health System, with the coordinator of the program, Nancy Zinaman. Their small group topic will be educational advocacy for children whose emotional issues impact their academic progress.

Sharon Risch from the Family Institute at Northwestern University (Small Group Topic: teenage dating relationships and how this plays a role in social/emotional health of teens).

Sarah Gross in Metropolitan Family's children's mental health program, Skokie and Evanston offices (identifying signs and symptoms of depression in teens and adolescents).

Jeff Simon, ETHS social worker (Support Programs at ETHS)

Paula Frohman ETHS Technology Director, Baccet Levy, Manager of Technology Services, or David Chan, Technology Dept., on Internet safety.

Megan DeCarlo, Peer Services Substance Abuse Prevention Program Coordinator and Melissa Summers, Adolescent Treatment Program Coordinator (the impact of substance use on social and emotional health, what parents need to know, and how parents can help).

PTSA's idea for this program is to provide an overview of the different services these representative programs offer in the community.
