On October 11, 2014 Drs. Saul Levine and Ann Garland hosted a fundraiser at their home in Del Mar, California. There were over 100 people attended the event which featured Ethiopian food and a silent auction. Congratulations to Saul and Ann and their hard committee for making the event so successful!
On May 7th 2014 175 people attended the Friars Club Reception for the Ethiopian School Readiness Initiative. Tondra and Jeffrey Lynford were honored for their outstanding support of ESRI. The Mayor of New York City's office presented ESRI with a Proclamation declaring May 7th 2014 Ethiopian School Readiness Initiative Day.

Dr. Menelik Desta was awarded a 2 year grant from Grand Challenges Canada to develop a system of early identification and management of behavior and learning dysfunction using evidenced based criteria. The Grant will also help support Parenting Education Programs as well as Mothers’ Vocational Training Programs.

On March 29, 2012, ESRI held the first Annual Awards Ceremony in Addis Ababa, when awards were given to the top three performing schools and the three most effective community support groups in the schools. US Ambassador, the Honorable Donald Booth, was the keynote speaker and presented the awards. The event was attended by over 200 people, including teachers, community members and a delegation of 10 ESRI volunteers from the United States.
Ethiopian Education Department, encouraged by the success of ESRI's program, introduces a pre-school program which will eventually be available throughout Ethiopia. ESRI has provided their three year curriculum as a guideline for teachers
