Men of Character, Committed to Making a Difference

Alpha Kappa Lambda (ΑΚΛ) is a collegiate social fraternity for men founded in 1914 at the University of California, Berkeley. Today, it operates approximately 32 active chapters and 10 colonies and boasts 30,000 initiated members.  Emporia State University's chapter was originally chartered March 27th, 1949 and was rechartered April 11, 2008.

We are a diverse group of men hailing from many states throughout the country.  We are involved in many different majors, from Theater and Music to Accounting and Political Science.  Our local chapter (Lambda Chapter) is a proud supporter of SOS, "These Hands Don't Hurt", Cystic Fibrosis research, Adopt-a-School and are currently looking towards other philanthropies. We have a high level of visibility on campus with participation in sports and the arts.  Lambda chapter has a history of academic success, including winning multiple GPA awards within Emporia State's Fraternity and Sorority Life.

Lambda Chapter's men have a tradition of accomplishment. Our alumni have gone on to serve within local and state governments, activity management with the Wichita Thunder hockey team, military service, teachers, and work for our National Headquarters in Indianapolis.
