MEN OF CHARACTER, MAKING A DIFFERENCE

Alpha Kappa Lambda (ΑΚΛ) is a collegiate social fraternity for men founded in 1914 at the University of California, Berkeley. Today, it operates approximately 33 active chapters and colonies and boasts 25,000 initiated members.  Emporia State's chapter was originally chartered March 27th, 1949 and was rechartered April 11, 2008.

We are a diverse group of men hailing from many states throughout the country.  We are involved in many different majors, from Theater and Music to Accounting and Political Science.  Our local chapter (Lambda Chapter) is a proud supporter of These Hands Don't Hurt, Cystic Fibrosis research, and are currently looking towards other philantrophies. We have a high level of visibility on campus with participation in sports and the arts.  Lambda chapter has a history of academic success, including winning multiple GPA awards within Emporia State's Greek Life.

Lambda chapter's men have a tradition of accomplishment. Some recent alumni have gone on to serve in local and state governments, activity management with the Wichita Thunder hockey team, military service, multiple teachers, and work for our National HQ in Indianapolis.
