Meeting opened by Dr. Gen at 1:20PM


Minutes reviewed and passed as presented.

New Business:


Dr. Gen presented to the group, information regarding a new website for the high school.  The cost is $4,200.00 per year with a three year fixed cost.


Dr. Gen showed the Beverly Hills Unified School District Website to the council.  Discussion was held on the benefits and how it would serve students, parents, as well as film locations scouts could view the site.  Additionally, advertising could be sold and it would appear as a banner under the title of the school.


Paulette Caudill moved and Jayne Pimlott seconded that the council approve the funding from facilities to cover the cost.  Motion passed.


Additional discussion was held on the benefits of selling advertising and Dr. Gen said he would check with the provider as to how this was done.


Karen Boden gave an update on the WASC and where the school was in the process.  Chapters 1 and 3 are finished and chapter 2 is still being worked on.


Ms. Boden informed the group that the stats showed the middle student 40-50% depending on gender have completed the A-G requirements.  Research shows that Hispanics and Latinos are not taking Honors and AP classes.  The goal is to increase their participation.

In May there will be a student survey for the WASC report conducted by Karen Boden and her Stat Class.


During the summer, the WASC committee will be working on chapter 4 and an action plan to be presented to the faculty upon return.


Ms. Boden told council about visit to La Serna and the bell schedule they are using.  El Segundo may be close to a new bell schedule to have a 30 minute block for intervention tutoring.


Both Dr. Gen and Karen Boden presented to the group the possible of purchasing SmartBoards.  The proposal is for three (3) to be purchased for the Math Dept. for Algebra, Geometry and Algebra II.  The cost of these boards are between $900.00 and $1600.00 each.  Possible funding is being researched.


Ms. Churchill announced the spring festival to be held on May 29th in the quad by the Wood and Art Classrooms.  Participants included:
