2018 REGISTRATION DAY FOR ALL BAND STUDENTS

Come for breakfast, stay for the fall band schedule! 

This Saturday, June 9th is band registration day. During this annual event, all band students will meet in sections and our experienced students will teach our incoming freshmen some basic marching moves. It's a great bonding opportunity and instruments are a must! Parents will hear about the fall schedule and will learn more about band attire, fundraising and volunteering. 

Below is the schedule for registration on Saturday, June 9th

8:30-9 AM A continental breakfast will be served 

9 AM-10   Meeting with Parents, Students will be in the band room.

10 AM Parents visit fundraising/volunteer/donating and band attire tables

10-12 Students in Marching Block on Field and playing arcs.

On Going Fundraising Opportunities
  • Shop at Amazon through smile.amazon.com and sign up for the "El Segundo Concert Band".  Then do your regular Amazon shopping and the band will earn money. Contact Nancy Veloz for more info.
  • Sign up for eScrip and Ralphs - Effortless fundraising for the band. Just sign up and local merchants will donate money to the band as you shop. Sign up and help the band get "free money". Contact Nancy Veloz for more info.
  • Funding Factory- Bring in those used inkjet and toner cartridges, cell phones, MP3 players, digital cameras, GPS devices, headsets, and laptops for cash.  We send them in and they send us a check.  Recycle Bin available in the band room soon. Contact Arlene Vinzon for more info.

Below are the descriptions of the seven Band Parent Council Board positions. Although different responsibilities fall under specific board positions, please know that the Board works as a team and responsibilities can be shifted to different board positions to better fit the talent and bandwidth of each member. 

If you are interested in any position, please let Arlene Vinzon know, and if you have any questions, you can contact the individual who currently holds each position. 
 
Thank you in advance for considering a position on the Band Parent Council Board! If one of these roles doesn't speak to you, trust that there are so many other ways to help our band be successful. Every role, job and ounce of volunteer spirit add up to make the ESHS Band a beacon of Eagle Pride! 

President (current contact is Arlene Vinzon- 2vinzon3@gmail.com)
  • Liaison between Band Director and Community (if need be)
  • Chair Band Parent Meetings
  • Oversee all Fundraising events/efforts
  • Acts as a representative for ESHS Band as needed - ASB, PTA, SBMA, Corporate Sponsors, etc.
  • Ensures the Band Parents understand the need for volunteer hours, donations and seeking sponships and grants
  • Works with Vice Presidents, Treasurer, Secretary, Members ta Large and All Committee Leads to ensure that all ESHS Band needs are met.
  • Active participant in Band Parent council meetings

  • Works with Assistant Band Director to collect and data enter donations, expenses, accounts receivable/payable
  • Coordinate with Assistant Band Director for cash boxes/till for fundraising events
  • Serves as liaison to SBMA for budget reporting to band parent council and parents.
  • Serves on the SBMA Board
  • Active participant in Band Parent council meetings
 
Secretary (current contact is Eileen Tinoco - eileen.tinoco21@gmail.com)
  • Secure pictures and update band building hall cork board with current pictures.
  • Organize volunteers.  Either Do, or Designate:  Chaperones, Pit-Crew, Snacks, Drivers for Equipment Trucks. 
  • Secure all-band photo, frame and arrange for installment in band room.
Drum Line Rep/Parent @ Large (current contact is Laurie Robert - slhrobert@earthlink.net )
  • Assists with percussion (battery & pit) and pit  to coordinate any
  • Serves as liaison between Band Director, percussion staff (pit and battery) and parent council.
  • Serves as support to Winter Line staff
  • Serves as liaison between Band Director, Winter Line staff and Winter Line Parents
  • Assists President and Vice President(s) as needed.
  • Active participant in Band Parent council meetings
