ABout Time Linux - My personal pet project started in beginning of 2005, see our site at This project is programmed in Ruby.

PMS - In 2005 I designed and implemented the Publication Management System (PMS) for our department. Since September 2006 it has been adopted by the entire Institute (ICIS). This is for supporting their workflow (publication submission and registration) and for providing presentation of that work. The project is programmed in PHP, hosted in the CodeYard and is in use at the ICIS PMS site.

cmlFramework - In 2006 I began the ongoing project of designing and implementing the IRIS departmental research prototyping framework. This consists of reusable components to facilitate research prototyping in the area of modeling research. This prototype is programmed in Java using Agile programming techniques and tools (unit tests, agile documentation, and the Eclipse framework).

eGroupWare - Since November 2005 I have been involved with this project due to being the contact point for our institutions users (I support a 100 plus user base on this product), see for more. In February 2006 I became a Junior Project Member. This is a PHP project. Departed from the project in July 2007.

Source Mage GNU/Linux - Starting in November 2001 I was involved with a source based Linux distribution called Source Mage GNU/Linux and I migrated from maintainer, developer, Assist. Project Lead up to Project Lead. As of the end of 2004 I am no longer working on this project, though I continue to sponsor them by funding the domain registration and providing admin support on the domain hosting. See This was primarily BASH programming.

DocConversion - The DocConversion kit provides a distributed document conversion solution with a well defined API (C++) which makes use of your existing doc conversion tools and/or a centralized conversion server. See

Contributed to joint research project in cooperation with the NOB and Telematica Institute to Stream Video over the Next Generation Internet (Gigabit Internet) using TCP/IP. This involved Java technology, development with VAJava, WebSphere Application Sever and the Linux platform. During this period, traveled to Poughkeepsie, NY and wrote the book 'Linux for S/390.' Furthermore, started the Linux Knowledge Center for IBM the Netherlands. This involved not only internal contacts but also external contacts with regards to IBM Linux related business. Represented IBM in the VOSN (Vereniging Open Source Nederland) and gave presentations at various Linux events.
