Mission & Goals

The East Rochester Special Education Parent Teacher Association (ER SEPTA) became an officially chartered unit of the National PTA on July 9, 2012. The group was started by concerned parents, teachers, and community members who are interested in uniting to provide a collective voice while effectively representing the needs of children in our community.

Our Mission:

The East Rochester Special Education Parent Teacher Association (ER SEPTA) is a non-profit volunteer led collaborative group of parents and teachers who empower, educate, and advocate for children requiring special education, whose needs include gifted and talented, developmental, learning and behavioral services.

Our Goals:

To provide families and teachers with an organizational structure so that support, networking, parent/teacher “brainstorming”, and training can occur. To provide a social network for children and their families in East Rochester. To provide informational education regarding laws and student/parental rights. To provide a voice to the East Rochester Board of Education and school district administration while collaboratively discussing and influencing policy.
