Tuesday 24th Ord I

A Pilgrim's Daily Prayer

Called through the Word to the everlasting journey in the Spirit

from nothingness to union with the One who is the Beginning and the End

Alexander Master, Christ Raising the Son of the Widow of Nain, Koninklijke Bibliotheek, The Hague, 1430

Tuesday of the Twenty-fourth week in Ordinary Time:  New Life is Offered Through Christ at Every Moment

Readings for Mass
First Reading: First Timothy 3:1-13
Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 101:1-2, 2-3, 5, 6
Gospel: Luke 7:11-17

Then Jesus came forward and touched the bier, and the bearers stood still. And he said, ‘Young man, I say to you, rise (NRSV, Luke 7:14)!’

Let us pray.

Father, every moment, not only from the womb, is a moment of new life.  The Word, now Christ made flesh, meets us in every situation and challenges us to accept, to grow, to be reborn ever more fully, in your divine life.  May we always say “yes,” turning away from sin to accept forgiveness, reconciliation, and new life.

Through Christ our Lord.  Amen.
