A Pilgrim's Daily Prayer

Called through the Word to the everlasting journey in the Spirit

from nothingness to union with the One who is the Beginning and the End

Tuesday of the Twenty-first Week in Ordinary Time I:  Called Not Only to Preach but to Share Divine Life

Readings for Mass
First Reading: First Thessalonians 2:1-8
Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 139:1-3, 4-5
Gospel: Matthew 23:23-26

So deeply do we care for you that we are determined to share with you not only the gospel of God but also our own selves, because you have become very dear to us (NRSV, First Thessalonians 2:8).

Let us pray.

Father, all of us, like Paul, are sent to preach the good news to our sisters and brothers.  But it is not only the message that we are called to share but, like Paul as well, the very divine life that you share with us.  We all live in the one divine life that you offer to all of us and we are challenged to give of that life to one another through acts of loving service.

Through Christ our Lord.  Amen.
