Tuesday of the Sixteenth week in Ordinary Time:             The True Family of Christ

Readings for Mass
First Reading: Exodus 14:21--15:1
Responsorial Psalm: Exodus 15:8-9, 10, 12, 17
Gospel: Matthew 12:46-50

[Jesus said:]For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.’ (NRSV, Matthew 12:50).”’

Let us pray.

Father, from the very beginning and in every situation you reveal it to all of us but it is only in our Lord Jesus Christ that we have realized that, summoned to share in your divine life, we are all called to be your daughters and sons, and sisters and brothers to one another.  May we be faithful to the destiny to which you call us by accepting your life into our own, by growing in it at every moment and sharing it with one another through acts of love and service.

Through Christ our Lord.  Amen.
