Saturday of the Fifth Week in Ordinary Time I:  God Feeds Us to Overfilling

Readings for Mass

First Reading: Genesis 3:9-2

Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 90:2, 3-4, 5-6, 12-13

Gospel: Mark 8:1-10

They ate and were filled (NRSV, Mk 8:8).

Let us pray.

Father, we turn to you in pray in all our needs.  Even before we ask, in every moment, you offer us the great gift of your own divine life.  This gift which is a share in your very being, Lord, brings with it the power to confront all of life’s difficulties and be victorious over them.  Transformed by your life, even the final apparent defeat of death becomes passage to an even greater participation in everything that you are.  Lord, we cry out to you in our hunger and you feed us to overfilling.

Through Christ our Lord.  Amen.
