Saturday of the 14th Week in Ordinary Time:                     Our Life and Our Salvation

Readings for Mass

First Reading: Genesis 49:29-33; 50:15-24
Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 105:1-2, 3-4, 6-7
Gospel: Matthew 10:24-33

But Joseph said to them, “Do not be afraid! Am I in the place of God? Even though you intended to do harm to me, God intended it for good, in order to preserve a numerous people, as he is doing today (NRSV, Genesis 50:19-20).”

Let us pray.

Father, every situation for us is the saving one. Through the Word, your life and power are always offered to us in the Holy Spirit that blessing may flow from them. Evil has no grip upon us as long as we rely solely upon you, Lord, who empower us with the gift of your own divine life. You alone, Father, are salvation for us.

Through Christ our Lord.  Amen.
