Monday 23rd Ord I

A Pilgrim's Daily Prayer

Called through the Word to the everlasting journey in the Spirit

from nothingness to union with the One who is the Beginning and the End

Alexandre Bida, The Man with the Withered Hand

Monday of the 23rd week in Ordinary Time:                       The Call to Growth in Goodness and Understanding

Readings for Mass
First Reading: Colossians 1:24--2:3
Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 62:6-7, 9
Gospel: Luke 6:6-11

Then Jesus said to them, ‘I ask you, is it lawful to do good or to do harm on the sabbath, to save life or to destroy it (NRSV, Luke 6:9)?’

Let us pray.

Father, in response to your Word ever present to us, may we always break through our human traditions, and even our finite understanding of you and what you require of us, to grow in your life which you share with us and in our realization of the goodness to which you call us.

Through Christ our Lord.  Amen.
