The Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus Christi) :  All Ate and Were Filled

 

Readings for Mass
First Reading: Genesis 14:18-20
Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 110:1, 2, 3, 4
Second Reading: First Corinthians 11:23-26
Gospel: Luke 9:11-17

 

And all ate and were filled (NRSV, Luke 9:17a).

 

Let us pray,

 

Father, as your Son Jesus fed the hungry multitudes, he feeds us as well with his own Body and Blood, effective signs of the life that you share with us in the power of the Holy Spirit.  May we ever hunger for that life and grow in it in every moment as you always offer it to us through the same Lord Jesus who is your Word made flesh.
