Let us pray.

Lord, your prophet Isaiah describes for us his vision in the temple, the purification of his lips by an angel with a burning coal and his final acceptance of your call.  What we so often forget, Lord, is that this very same call is directed at every human being, at every moment, even from the womb.  This call actually defines who we are as human beings.  It is made through your Word, ever present at the depth of our being, who calls us to accept the gift of your divine life in the Spirit and to grow in that life.  The call always involves as well a mission, being sent, to share your life with all of our sisters and brothers by ministering to them and by being faithful stewards of your creation.

With Isaiah, may we say “yes” to your summons, not just once, but again and again at every moment, thus growing constantly in your life shared with us and in our mission of love and service to the world.

Through Christ our Lord.  Amen.
