A Pilgrim's Daily Prayer

Called through the Word to the everlasting journey in the Spirit

from nothingness to union with the One who is the Beginning and the End

Nineteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time C:                              Faith Bears Fruit Beyond Measure

Readings for Mass
First Reading: Wisdom 18:6-9
Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 33:1, 12, 18-19, 20-22
Second Reading: Hebrews 11:1-2, 8-19 or 11:1-2, 8-12
Gospel: Luke 12:32-48 or 12:35-40

Therefore from one person, and this one as good as dead, descendants were born, ‘as many as the stars of heaven and as the innumerable grains of sand by the seashore (NRSV, Hebrews 11:12).’

Let us pray,

Abraham was ready to surrender all, trusting only in you, O Lord.   May we too, Lord, risk everything in the moment that your life may abound in us as it did in Abraham, our father in faith.

Through Christ our Lord.  Amen.
