My name is Erin Patterson. I am a student at the University of Kentucky, majoring in Merchandising, Apparel, and Textiles. Currently, I am a senior, work as a part time associate at Ann Taylor and am a member of the MAT club here at school. I was also an employee at The Limited located at the Fayette Mall for eight months. From the day I could dress myself I have always been extremely interested in fashion. I loved picking out outfits for birthday parties and school, and this passion has only gotten stronger with age. I have completed the following courses: Introduction to textiles, Introduction to Merchandising, Dress and Culture, and Visual Merchandising. All of these have helped me expand my knowledge of not only the fashion industry, but also the textile part of it and types of fashion all around the world. They have also stimulated my interest to learn as much as I can about the subject. As I started school, one of my main goals was to study aboad, and in the summer of 2011 I traveled to Milan, Italy and took fashion styling classes at Nuovo Academia de Bella Arta and the Domus Academy. This experience was amazing and opened up my eyes to a whole different world of fashion, with a focus on the more creative side of it. My future goals include graduating with honors from UK and getting an internship or job that I can continue to learn more about fashion and merchandising with. I truly love and enjoy my major and know I will take this same enthusiasm to my career.
