We will spend Monday and Tuesday applying the Toulmin Model of Argument. I have given the students a flow chart with the definitions of the terms and two examples so that they can see how the argument model is applied. I had them work in pairs to make a poster with the same flow chart, the terms defined in their own words and their own school appropriate example included. Due to interuptions in our school schedule, the students in period 7 will not have time to do this assignment.
On the block day we will be in the computer lab. I will give the students outline sheets for each of the styles of argument styles. They are to pick one and write a timed persuasive essay. It will be due at the end of class.
