Due: 4/17

The regular class period will be an open lab. You can come to do your work, or you can just be sure to complete all the work below.

Due: 4/21

NOT ACCEPTED LATE
Complete three peer reviews. Go to your classmates' blog, access his/her hypertext project and then leave a reply in his/her blog:
  • Do you have any unanswered questions after you finished reading the draft? What are they?
  • What did you like about the draft? How/why did you like it? How might the author build on that section?
  • What sections are confusing to you? How/why? Ask your classmates questions that would help you to make sense of the section.
  • Where would you like to know more? Ask questions!
  • Does the draft provide all the requested information listed in the assignment prompt? If not, what is it missing?
  • How is the layout and design of the page? How might the authors use CRAP design elements to make the page/s better?
In your blog, write a reflection of your peer review process. First list and link to the three drafts you reviewed. What did you learn from reading and replying to your classmates’ drafts? After reviewing their drafts, what do you realize you need to revise in your own draft? Now read the reviews conducted on your draft (please list the names of your classmate’s who reviewed your draft). Did any comments surprise you? Why or why not?

Remember, you are making up for 3 hours of work. Be sure to read all of the work you will be doing prior to starting.
  • (Make sure you are logged into the course wiki, or check under "docs" when you are logged into your ODU Gmail.) Find the Student Blogs list (in the left of the website in the menu bar; or labeled "ENGL439/539: Course Information" in your Docs list). Go read and reply to the following:
    • make sure over all your replies you reply to at least 4 different classmates
    • at least 3 replies from the notes produced while reading New Media Design
    • at least 3 replies from the notes produced on 2/14
    • a total of at least 8 replies
    • in your replies engage your classmates with
      • what you liked and why you liked it
      • where you had questions
      • where you wanted to know more
  • After your reply to your classmates, post a new entry in your blog. Make sure it includes active links to each entry you replied to, 8 total (do not just link to their overall blog page, I will not go digging for specific entries). Include a reflection on what you learned from your classmates.
  • Read and reply to at least four classmates Video Project blog post #1 postings from 2/14 (about the book, audience, and other ideas). Specifically provide feedback about a specific audience you think would "work" (or give them more details about the audience they already imagine). Also provide more ideas about what to include in the video.
