Abstract

The relationship between the growth rate of human populations and the energy consumption has been established in previous work, and a cartography of the deviations of the model has been produced. In this work we study the regularities in the obtained maps by means of the bidimensional Fourier analysis, gauging the evolution of the significant frequencies across the time. For some of these frequencies we have found a good correlation between the spectral power and the increase of energy consumption. Finally we classify the maps according to the minimum set of frequencies necessary to reproduce them.
