Definition of virtual mobility :

Virtual mobility is defined as “a set of ICT supported activities that realise and facilitate international, collaborative experiences in a context of teaching and/or learning".

Its strengths :
Virtual mobility brings an European dimension to the training systems, specially for the apprenticeship system.

  • It gives everyone the opportunity to live experiences of european collaboration with people from different cultures and to enrich their intercultural competence, language and digital, regardless of geographic location, financial or personal situation.

  • Integrated or not in a physical mobility project, it helps to internationalize courses and provides open and flexible learning process.

It is also an economical alternative to linguistic and cultural preparation for apprentices whose length of stay is usually less than four weeks.

So, virtual mobility represents a real opportunity to promote mobility for learning purposes, and to increase European cooperation for new practices using innovative teaching methods.
