This year's travel plan is packed full of some of Western Europe's most interesting cities. After spending four great weeks in Berlin, students and faculty will travel to Madrid, Spain. A nice weekend in Madrid with planned cultural trips and excursions and some excellent food, the beginning of the week will consist of site visits with experts and policymakers.
From here, we will fly to The Hague via Amsterdam and enjoy the serene quality of this second city in the Netherlands, which has all the same facilities as Amsterdam, and also the beach and the sea only a tram ride away! Here we will visit, among other places, the International Criminal Court and the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia. Last year students ranked these institutions as their top two favorite site visits.
From The Hague, we will take the train to Brussels and explore the institutions of the European Union. Finally, our European Summer Abroad program ends in Paris. What better way to say goodbye to the program, and to either move forward on your travels or return home to see friends and family.
