The Eastern Michigan Writing Project believes that the best professional development for teachers is led by teachers. During the Summer Institute, participants share exemplar lessons from their own classrooms, engage in inquiry projects to improve their teaching, and write alongside others. Our institute also includes time for teachers to engage in a book club of professional texts. Simply put, participants leave with a wealth of professional knowledge and a network of teachers, writers, and friends that they continue to reach out to year after year.
