I am a sixth year Ph.D. candidate in Political Science at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. I expect to complete my Ph.D. in the summer of 2013. I received my B.A. in Political Science and Urban Studies from Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina in 2006.

In the Fall of 2013, I will join the Political Science department at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas as an Assistant Professor.

My research and teaching interests are in American Politics, primarily in the areas of urban politics, racial and ethnic politics and public policy. My dissertation research focuses on the leadership behavior of Latino elected officials in cities throughout the United States.
